With an experience of more than 14 years in the fields of pulmonology, Dr Praveen Valsalan is one of the best pulmonologist in Kochi. He is an expert in managing variety of respiratory disorders of any age.

He earned his MBBS degree and Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Tuberculosis and Respiratory diseases, from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Post graduate Medical education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry. He was an Assistant Professor in Sri Manakula Vinayakar Medical college, Puducherry. Later he joined Lisie Hospital, which is a tertiary care hospital in Kochi, as Head of the department for 7 years. He was later the Lead Consultant Clinical and Interventional Pulmonologist at Aster Medcity, Kochi, which is a quaternary hospital, which he is continuing till date.

He was awarded the Best Young Pulmonologist appreciation award by APCCM. He was selected as the Best Doctor South (pulmonologist) by India Today and Outlook. He was awarded Fellow of Royal College of Physicians by Royal College (UK) for his contributions to the field of Medicine.

He is an experienced Clinical and Interventional pulmonologist. He is one of the few Pulmonologists in Kochi who does difficult airway procedures including Endobronchial Ultrasound, Rigid bronchoscopy, Tumor debulking, airway stenting, foreign body removal etc. He is an academician par excellence. He has a lot of publications to his merit. He is also a teacher and examiner for DNB Respiratory medicine and for MRCP (UK). He is a guide and mentor to many post graduates in the field of respiratory medicine. He is a member of various societies including ERS, ACCP, ICS, IAB, APCCM, CTS.
